Well, my internet friends…
Faith Sloan reporting in albeit a tad late …
I am so happy to be sitting here in Chicago but sad that I wasn’t able to make it to Hong Kong for the Diamond Holiday Opening Ceremony.
Maybe this is where the Lord wanted me to be at this moment in time.
As I readied myself for my trip to Hong Kong for the Diamond Holiday Opening Ceremony and to settle down in the luxurious hotel they provided to me, I was ecstatic!
Normally it would take me 2 hours to drive to the airport. My Queen Mother was my rock and consolation as she maneuvered around traffic.
As life would dictate, traffic on the Expressway was like a big ol’ parking lot with almost no movement.
When I finally arrived at the airport 3.5 hours later and 20 minutes before take off, there was no turning back.
Unfortunately, I missed my 5:45pm flight.
I worked with American Airlines, Finnair, and my dastardly traffic agent to no avail for a full 5 hours.
I even tried to contact Diamond Holiday to take cash out of my back office to help me pay for a ticket at the cost of 5k to no avail. Andy was unavailable and was at the hotel.
So at 10:30pm, I took my tired, exhausted, visibly bothered ‘being’ back home. Got home about midnight.
Shucks! If I had known that it would take me only 1.5 hours to take the elevated train to the airport, I would’ve taken that route.
Nonetheless, I feel better today. Church was marvelous even as I think about the Diamond Holiday Travel convention I missed and the tour where my colleagues will be partying without ME! sigh…
With that said, all conference calls and webinars are on this week! We’re getting ready to blow up big time!
So let us get on the bandwagon and stay on it. We have just started this journey and by George, it will be a marvelous prosperous one!
I am pleased to have met many of you.
To each of you …
God Bless
